Exterior painting by JC’s Painters

Look at the surfaces first

Peeling paint, weathered wood, chalking and failing caulk all affect an exterior repaint. We walk the project and discuss the condition of the surfaces, access and what needs attention before painting. Areas that need wood replacement or other repairs are identified separately.

Preparation with a clear scope

Depending on the surface and its condition, preparation may include washing, scraping loose paint, sanding, caulking suitable joints and priming exposed or problem areas. The estimate sets out the work and coating system for your project so you know what is included.

More than siding

Exterior projects can include siding, fascia, soffits, trim, doors and painted brick. We also discuss staining and clear finishes for appropriate exterior wood, including cedar features and doors. Different surfaces need different preparation and products; we review the options with you.

Schedule around the weather

Application and drying conditions matter for exterior work. We plan around the selected product’s requirements and the weather, protect surrounding surfaces and keep you informed if conditions affect the schedule.

Before we start

Good questions.
Clear answers.

Is wood replacement included?

Wood replacement and carpentry are separate from painting unless they are specifically included in the written estimate. We discuss visible repair needs before agreeing on the painting scope.

Can you paint brick?

We review the brick’s condition and any existing coating before recommending a system. Moisture issues, surface preparation and the intended finish all affect the work.

How many coats will my project need?

The coating system depends on the surface, existing finish, color change and product requirements. Your written estimate should state the preparation, primer and finish-coat scope for that project.

Can you quote from photos?

Photos help us understand the size and condition of a project and discuss the next step. We may need to see the property to confirm measurements, access and preparation before finalizing the estimate.
